Restless City is a powerful new film about a West African immigrant and his struggle to survive in New York City. The film is directed by Nigerian-born filmmaker and photographer Andrew Dosunmu, who was also a protege of Yves Saint Laurent.
“In this film, I try to explore the consequences of displacement,” Dosunmu explained to Aleim magazine. “There can be such a restlessness in this metropolis, because it’s a constant hustle just to provide and survive.”
Restless City premiered at Sundance, and is in select theaters now.
