Amongst the glitzy boutiques on Melrose, our favorite place to shop is Leadapron bookstore and gallery. Nestled behind a quaint garden, Leadapron is filled with amazing, rare photography books and signed, out-of-print art by some of our favorite photographers, such as Bruce Davidson and Diane Arbus. The gallery also serves as an exhibition space for contemporary artists. Jonathan Brown owns and curates the space. He imagines his store functions like its namesake, protecting the art for future generations, so it can continue to impact society.
